Our schedule has been completely different, but everyone seems to have
enjoyed the challenge!

JCA Garden in a Glove!!!

YEA!!! Miss Shannon came today!
She showed us how to make a Garden in a Glove!
We dipped a cotton ball in water.....and squeezed it out.....
We touched the cotton balls to five different kinds of seeds....
Dill, cauliflower, carrots, turnips, and parsley!
Each cotton ball is in the thumb or finger of the glove.....
the glove is tied at the top....
And hung in the office window!
We will watch for them to sprout....
then we will plant them!

Then, we went to see how our garden grows....
These are our onions!

Miss Emilia broke her arm!!!!
But she is tougher than a boot and doing great!

We talked about Shadrech, Meshach, and Abednigo today!
They were thrown in the firey furnace because they would NOT
bow down to worship the King.
They only wanted to worship God!
There was an angel of God in the fire with them.....
AND
they came out of the furnace without being burned
nor did they EVEN smell like smoke!
Did you know they were trusting God to save them IN the fire,
but did you know that they were NOT going to worship the idol even
IF God did not save them!
WOW!!! What faith!!!
They had faith in a FAITHFUL God....
and we should, too!

JCA Trail Mix, T-Chart, and God Provides!!!

This week, we discussed how the Israelites wandered around for 40 years in the desert.
God provided for them the entire time with manna and quail.
We didn't have manna and quail, but we did have trail mix!
Cheerios, Fruit Loops, Cheese Nips, Marshmallows, and White Chocolate Chips!!!
Yummy trail mix!!!

We practiced our daily sentences identifying and circling words....
And we always practice our Star Words!

We also learned some things about George Washington and Abe Lincoln today.....
We compared their hats, their homes, and the money their faces appear on....
We put it all on a T-Chart!

We've also been talking about how God provided for Elijah!
God used ravens to bring bread and meat for Elijah!
God provides for us, too!

JCA Dirt Babies!!!

Miss Shannon came to JCA today and told us we were going to make
DIRT BABIES!!!
First, she gave each of us a knee-high hose.....
The boys had to learn how to "gather up" the hose.....
Maybe just a little unsure about this?????
Then, we put in grass seed....
Next, we put in potting soil........
We tied the hose and turned them over.....
put them in a cup:
DIRT BABIES!!!
We put them out in the rain (THANK YOU, LORD!).....
They need soil, sun, air, and WATER!
Our dirt babies are going to grow "hair"!!!!

We are learning how to play games.....like taking turns!!!

Miss Talia came today.....
We are learning about notes and the music signs!!!

Fun Day!

JCA Garden of Eden and Hungry Caterpillars!

IT'S FRIDAY!!!!
Actually, these were SILENT SCREAMS for a earning a good behavior award!!!

Today we worked on making the Garden of Eden...
Logan reading about prayer!
A finished Garden of Eden!

We read, "A Very Hungry Caterpillar".......
And we've studied about the life cycle of the butterfly.....
So.....we made caterpillars!

Then.......we decided to make message boards.....
Here we have artists at work.....
We worked really hard on this project....
AND.....had LOTS of fun with the PAINT!!!
Our finished message boards have clothespins that can hold the notes on the board...
A magnet holds the board to the frig! Cool!

And last, but not least.....
Jack jumped over the candlestick!!!

We turned our ladybugs loose today.....

Our new scripture begins...
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right."
Ephesians 6:1

Great week at JCA!
