Everyone who wanted to

To try to make donuts!
You can make ALOT

JCA Day 56 The Mayflower

Thanksgiving approaches!
We are studying about the Pilgrims who came from England to America on the ship, the Mayflower. They came to America so they could worship God the way they believed was right.
The trip across the ocean was very long......one baby was born and was named "Oceanus"...
The first winter was very harsh, and of the approximate 100 Pilgrims who arrived in America...
about half of them died the first winter. They had to build their homes and their church.
A friendly Indian named Squanto taught them how to plant and grow fruits and vegetables.
The Pilgrims and Indians celebrated the first Thanksgiving together.

Today we worked with our number sticks we made yesterday out of pinto beans.
It's a great way to add!!!
7 + 8 = 15!!!!!!!
It's a secret!

At center 2 today we put together puzzles.
We always LOVE our computer time!
Wonderful educational games!!!
It's probably our very favorite thing to do!

JCA Day 54 National Education Week at the Mall!

This next week is National Education Week...
The schools in the Hobbs School District always display student work this week in the mall.....
So......we were able to join in on the action!
Kimberly's parents built the greatest display ever!
And Hannah R.'s mom and Brayden's mom along with Cigi and Dimitra took it to the mall and got it all set up for us.
It may not be the biggest of all.....but it is the cutest and MOST clever of all!
It's WONDERFUL!
The kids each displayed a turkey decorated with the help of their parents, a "Me" which is a representation of themselves, and a wind sock declaring that they will follow Jesus.

We have some new Tinker Toys (thanks to Emilia's grandmother),
and some farm/ranch animals (thanks to Ms. Corrina and Miss Bailie)........

We've talked about CREATION this week......
and how God created ALL the animals.....
So we tried our hand at creating some animals...
There are horses, kitty cats, a turtle, and a caterpillar!
Harder than it looks!!!

We're doing the beanie bag dance!!!
Pitch it up and catch it!
Put it any where you want and dance!
We're doing the beanie bag dance!!!

We've been learning about the four seasons of the year...
In case you weren't aware, this is currently the fall season.....
The leaves on the trees begin changing colors.....
There are red leaves, yellow leaves, green leaves, orange leaves, brown leaves......
It's a wonderful and beautiful time of the year!!!!
Great job on the finger painting!!!

We also made placemats for our Thanksgiving Feast.......
Fall leaves and acorns!!!

We LOVE JCA!!!

Let us know if you see our display at the mall!
