JCA Day 95 Music from Mexico!!!

We had a new center today on ESTIMATING!!!
First, we had to guess how many objects might be in each box.....
THEN, we actually counted them to see if we were close!

Today, we watched two Brainpop Jr. movies on the projector....
One was about subtraction....
And the other was about Arctic Habitats!
It's really cold......and dark......there!

In music today, we learned about music....
AND musical instruments.....
from MEXICO!!!
We even tried them out for ourselves.....
We made quite a racket.......uummmmmmm.......MUSIC!!!
TOO MUCH FUN!!

JCA Day 94 "P" is for Play and Playground!!!

So.......due to the cold, wet weather (NOT complaining about the wet!).......
We've been couped up inside and not able to play outside!
So......needlesstosay......we were SO excited to get to go play on the playground today!!!
YEA!!!

We heard what Emilia and Henrietta did this weekend!
They had LOTS of fun!
We had a new center today.....
We used magnetic letters to make our STAR words (sight words).....
And then, we wrote them on a piece of construction paper with SCENTED markers!!!!

For science today......we made a chart on the floor.....
One side was labeled LIVING and one side was labeled NON-LIVING.....
Then we took turns placing different items in the correct column.
Here is our finished chart.
When we went back to our seats, one of our centers was a file folder game
with LIVING and NON-LIVING items....
And then, we made a graph using those same items!

In music, we made our own instruments like they use in China!
TOO much fun!!!

For our Bible lesson this week, we are discussing Paul in Prison.....
(remember we are on letter "P"......)
He and Silas were thrown into prison because they were telling people about Jesus.
At midnight, they were singing praises to God..... God caused an earthquake!
The prison doors shook open and the chains fell off all of the prisoners.
The guard and his family were saved after Paul and Silas witnessed to them!

JCA Day 89 The World of Technology!!!

We are SO PUMPED!
We finally have our ELMO, projector, and computer hooked up!
We HAD to have a silent scream to celebrate!!!
ELMOs and projectors are PRETTY amazing!
If you are not familiar with them, you should stop by sometime and let us show you what all can be done with this technology!
We LOVE it!!!

We watched a Brainpop Jr. movie using the projector and computer today about migration.
Migration has a lot to do with HOT, COLD, the position of the sun, the equator....
So here......Tristan is portraying the sun and he is "shining"!
The earth is spinning on its axis.....
The day is warmer than the night because of the position of the earth to the sun.
We talked about the seasons and hot and cold....
We are all ready for summer!!!
In one of our centers this afternoon, we had a file folder game where we decided if the items were common to hot weather or cold weather.
Then we made a graph!

Miss Talia came today for music!
We decorated and made booklets about......
quarter notes and half notes......
and whole notes......
It was fun!
How do you like this booklet?????

Our Bible story this week is about Young Jesus.
His parents found him with the teachers at the temple as a 12-year old boy!
He was SO drawn to the things of God....even then!
