JCA Day 79 King David: The Shepherd Boy!

What a great group!!!

We played a board game today using dice...

The game was about King David, and how he went from a shepherd boy.....

to King of Israel!

We rolled the dice.......

and counted the spaces! FUN!

Cigi and Sadie came today......

Cigi did a "human video" for us called Shepherd Boy!

It was all about how Samuel annointed David as a boy to be king.....

And how God doesn't look at our outward appearance....

But He sees what's in our heart!

We also played a phonics game....

Which team could say the correct blend first?

It was way too much fun!

Just so you know.....the girls ended up with the most cards!

Guess what else starts with "K"? KIT KAT!!!

JCA Day 78 "K" also is for KIWI!!!

This is a kiwi! Only a few had seen a kiwi before.....

So.....we cut it open to see what it looked like in the middle.....

Then we touched it......

and smelled it.......

FRUIT PIZZA!!!

So then.......we ate it!!!

It was awesome!

We thought kiwis were pretty cool!!!....and strawberries and oranges and blueberries, too!

Ms. Corrina gave us a life lesson today!

How to take our jacket off without turning the sleeves inside out!

We practiced after recess.....and did pretty good!

We had letter cards......

and we used them to make words!

We could change the words up by only moving one letter at a time!!!

One of our activities in math today was counting chips......

We stacked them into piles of 5.....

Then......we counted by 5s to count our chips......

Then.....we put them in piles of 10s....and counted by 10s!!!

Next, we played a game using a "blow-up" dice.....

Whatever number we rolled, that's how many gigantic steps we got to take!

It was loads of fun!

We reviewed our story about King David and "built" his castle.

We also took turns reciting Romans 8:28:

All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose.

Do you know it? That makes the 9th scripture we have memorized!

JCA Day 77 "K" is for KETTLE Corn!!!

Brayden and Henrietta had a fabulous time this weekend!!!

We started the letter "K" today....

Kettle Corn starts with "K"....AND IT IS YUMMY!

We worked with money today.... Nickels are worth 5 cents!!!

We are concentrating...

and counting....

and thinking.....

SO hard!!!

MATH....MATH....MATH

Our Bible story this week is about King David.

Samuel, the prophet, was sent to annoint a son of Jesse's to become the next king of Israel.

David was Jesse's youngest son......Samuel annointed him to be king....then.....

he went back to tending the sheep. It wasn't time for him to be king just yet.

It was many years before he became the actual king.

God doesn't look at our outward appearance...

He looks at our heart.

David had a heart for the Lord!

JCA Day 76 Coat of Many Colors

All Week we've been talking about Joseph and his coat of many colors.

His brothers were so jealous that their dad liked Joseph best.

We scattered out all over the floor ........

and made our very own coat of many colors!

God worked all things together for good for Joseph.....

He'll do the same for us!

Do we look sharp or what????

This week we have been learning to code words.....

We've learned about sneaky "e"......

long vowels and the macron!

The best part about today was.......

IT WAS SHOPPING DAY!!!!

YEA!!!

We also made buddies on a sled!

A great way to end a great week!
